Young acting students will enjoy this great opportunity to be part of the ensemble for the Senior Conservatory production of “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown”. Students will learn the songs and choreography for 2 (or more) musical numbers and perform onstage with the cast November 19 & 20th. Join Snoopy, Woodstock and the entire Peanuts Gang in this fun production!

Students choose Monday or Tuesday to come to rehearsals (5:00-7:00). Directors and Musical Directors teach them as much as they can during the time they are here and….TaDa, the curtain rises with them on stage opening night! This is a great opportunity to still be with your friends without compromising your schoolwork!! PLEASE NOTE: The size of role will be affected by the abbreviated rehearsal time. BUT, students will perform in all 4 productions!

BACKSTAGE with Charlie Brown

NOTE: this schedule is flexible depending on the backstage position you receive.
Would you like to learn about the backstage aspect of a mainstage show? This is your chance. We are looking for students who would like to have training in the following areas: Stage Management, Lighting, Sound, Publicity, Costumes, Make Up and more! You must be available for 1 rehearsal/week beginning September 13th and for all of the performances. Depending on the backstage position you receive, there may be additional time needed throughout the rehearsal period.
Students will train with professional set designers, directors, lighting designers and Stage Managers. Note: when registering please let us know what SPECIFIC area you are interested in backstage. The poistions are filled on a first come basis, so register soon!

Charlie Brown stands alone as his friends give their various opinions of him, each overlapping the other. Today everyone is calling him a "good man". Charlie Brown is happy and hopeful as usual, but he nevertheless wonders if he really is what they say. He decides to find out how he can really become a good person. Here begins the day in a life of Charlie Brown. All fun comic strip characters are represented in this fun and innocent musical about friendship!

Ponyboy (a kid from the wrong side of the tracks) who's parents were killed in a car accident and his friends, Johnny, Dally, Two-Bit, and Steve, Darry and Soda, are always getting beaten up by a gang called the socs. One night, he and Johnny, are attacked by socs who almost drown Ponyboy. Johnny, defending Ponyboy, stabs Bob, one of the socs to death. The story continues as these young people battle the differences from right and wrong. This well written adaptation of the book combines great characters and dialogue for any age drama student.

Everyone will love this charming, upbeat adaptation of a literary classic. Mary Lennox ("Such A Difficult Child") is sent to live in England after her parents die in India. Misselthwaite Manor turns out to be a gloomy fortress. Her uncle is rarely home and his young son, Colin, never leaves his room, convinced he's an incurable invalid. Mary discovers a strange walled garden that has been locked up for years. With the gardener's apprentice, Dickon, a lad who can talk to the animals, Mary coaxes the garden back to life. The garden seems to have a wonderful, magical effect on all who come into it, allowing Mary to help restore Colin to health and a reunion with his father.

Take a journey to Camelot and experience the thrilling days of King Arthur, and the Knights and Ladies of the Round Table. Hank Morgan, a teenager who works on his school's stage crew, is knocked out by a co-worker. He finds himself in Camelot, England where, after predicting an eclipse of the sun, he is hailed a great wizard. After being knighted as "Sir Boss," he sets out to modernize Camelot, complete with bicycles, T-shirts and telephones. But the king's wicked half-sister plots against Camelot, planning an invasion with her own army. How "Sir Boss" overcomes the evil plot and finds his way back to Hartford, Connecticut, provides fun and excitement for everyone!

Anemone, an adventurous little mermaid, leaves her undersea realm for a sixteenth birthday excursion to the surface. She hopes to find the prince of her dreams, whose statue she has found. Accompanied by her friend, Clem Clam, they begin their quest. But a jealous Sea-Witch threatens Anemone. In fact, Rip-Tide and Zip-Tide, the witch's nasty shark cohorts, terrorize all. The Sea-Witch magically conjures up a storm which sinks a ship carrying the prince. Anemone dives into the waves to save him, but not before she has been tricked into trading her voice to the Sea-Witch. As he recovers from his ordeal, the prince believes Georgina, who discovered him on the rocks, saved him. The prince declares to all that she will be his wife… a fitting "thank you." Meanwhile, the prince has befriended the voiceless Anemone while Georgina, her heart belonging to another, resists the impending marriage. Patience, love and friendship solve this delightful romantic puzzle. The Sea-Witch is punished, and Anemone and the prince are happily wed.

Fantasy and reality collide in this eclectic and fun musical romp! Emily’s having a sleepover with her best friend Stephanie when they discover there’s a monster in her closet! To investigate further (despite the incessant teasing of her big brother and his friends), Emily and Stephanie recruit their friends—sarcastic and skeptical Kelly, vain Mary, studious Brain, tomboy Tara and avid reader Megan—to help capture the monster. What they don’t know is that Murray, the closet monster, doesn’t mean any harm. He only wants to play Emily’s new video game.

Equipped with nothing more than a toy shovel and pail, little Do-Nothing Dale appears to be a wizard in name only. Laughed at and excluded by her colleagues, Magnificent Mervin and Wonder Wanda, Dale sets out on a journey to find her own "little bit of magic." Queen Marilyn Melody of Musicland and Coco the Clown, King of Laughterland, do their best to help her, but it's not until her encounter with the evil Weatherman on the Planet of Sad Flowers that Dale discovers just what it is that makes her unique. This highly imaginative story gently teaches while serving up a large portion of fun and folly.
